Do you want to make your craft show booth the busiest this year? The busiest, I mean, a booth that stand outs, getting a lot of attention and most importantly, making more sales.

Here are the elements of a busy craft show booth:
1. Craft Show Displays
If you want to make your booth the busiest, the very first thing you need to keep in mind is your craft show display! People’s first impression can make or break your potential sale.
Your booth must catch anyone’s attention from a distance and from within. Set up a booth that both welcome visitors and see all of your offering, in a wide range of price points, without overwhelming your visitors.
Basically, you can use a simple and clean table cloth as your craft show table cover, use wooden crates to add layers and extra space for your items, use vintage suitcases for charm, repurpose your pvc pipes, convert an old photo frame to have chicken wire stapled to the back for hanging, etc. The more creative your booth (without being overcrowded) the better.
Add a splash of color and vary your height in your display. This will get their attention and make it easy for them see all your items. Pretty displays will make them stop and take notice…trust me!

2. Positive Attitude
A great craft show table without a good attitude is useless. As a seller full of passion, you need to be helpful, engaging, smart, funny, sociable. I know this can be difficult especially to introverts (which most handmade artists are), but if you can’t be engaging, you have to at least exude positive vibes. You can do that by smiling and simply being attentive.
You should also be professional and not taking other people’s comments personally. During craft shows, rude comments, appreciative remarks, and haggling are a very common scene. You need to prepare yourself for that!
As much as you are selling your product, you are selling YOU! If this comes naturally to you then great! If you are not like that then just fake it til you make it. And it’s not as hard as I am making it sound. You are selling something that you are passionate about, that you love to make! Remember that and it makes it much easier.
3. Lighting
Most sellers take this for granted but your booth’s lighting is a big factor in making your space pop out. Always check the site’s lighting before you set up your booth, adjust if needed. You can easily add a little yellow bulbs behind your table. You can also add themes like greenery or rustic for an extra nice ambience. This will also help enhance your lighting adjustments and adds visual depth to your display which encourages people to “come in.”

4. Pricing
I have been talking a lot about this on my previous articles because this is valuable! If you are selling expensive items, offer options to your customers. People may come to your booth to look at your expensive art but most of them leave because not all of them can afford it. If they leave, make sure they leave with your cheaper items. Offer affordable items or upsell because for some reason those smaller things will be what makes you more money overall.
5. Giveaways
People love free stuff so offer giveaways! You can do this by providing samples or coupons. I know you work hard for your money and sometimes it’s hard to part with samples without a guaranteed return…but if you can find something inexpensive, try it!
