If you are joining a craft fair or hold a ‘craft’ party, it can be a daunting experience.
What should I do to get more sales? How should my booth look like? How should I greet customers? etc etc.
Whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned craft show seller, there are other things that you need to know to get more sales.
Selling at a craft show requires a little extra sales knowledge. At a show where you’re competing for attention among 20, 50, or even 500 makers, your booth aesthetic is very important. But on top of that… when someone is in your booth, are you making the most of their interest?
You can get more people into your booth, and have them spend more while they’re there, by making a few sales-savvy changes that don’t require much money.
If you want to know how to do it, here are 12 do’s and don’ts by a retailer garden center owner Aurelia Rose Riley of Rockledge Gardens of Rockledge, Florida. These tips come straight from the folks who walk the aisles of trade shows, and are either attracted to your booth and selling style or repelled by it.
So pay attention! Produced by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association.
That’s it! I hope this list helps you improve sales at your next show.
Am I missing anything? Please let me know in the comments. Don’t be shy! By helping each other, we’re supporting the entire handmade industry and making all our craft shows better.
